A Devonian born and bred, but spent 40 years in exile in Hertfordshire, Kent, and Illinois, USA.  I have lived in Maidencombe for the last 10 years and am passionate about preserving its unique characteristics, and encouraging folks to network together.

 Sally & I moved to Maidencombe in 2014 having spent two years  searching the UK for the 'Special Place' to retire and relax.  Maidencombe fulfils our dreams and we both passionate about protecting  its unique character, countryside and wildlife and helping to  build a close and active community.  I have been a keen table tennis

 Sally & I moved to Maidencombe in 2014 having spent two years  searching the UK for the 'Special Place' to retire and relax.  Maidencombe fulfils our dreams and we both passionate about protecting  its unique character, countryside and wildlife and helping to  build a close and active community.  I have been a keen table tennis  player since a young boy, and love boating (Sally not so much !) and simply enjoying the beauty of our surroundings.

I came to live in Maidencombe with my husband, Mac, in January 2015 and we were instantly made welcome. I am now  a committee member of the MRA with a remit of liaising with TCCT. I also run a very informal book club within the Maidencombe community.

I moved to Maidencombe with my husband Ian in May 2021, having spent some time looking for the right place to spend our retirement nearer to family in Devon. I have always loved the sea and particularly enjoy walks whether on coastal paths or sea-front promenades. It was difficult moving to a completely new location at the tail end of the

I moved to Maidencombe with my husband Ian in May 2021, having spent some time looking for the right place to spend our retirement nearer to family in Devon. I have always loved the sea and particularly enjoy walks whether on coastal paths or sea-front promenades. It was difficult moving to a completely new location at the tail end of the Covid-19 pandemic but joining the committee has been a good way to get to know people in the neighbourhood here and help support local projects and social events.
